Another week has passed, with another great week ahead of us in the entertaining world of sports. The Golden State Warriors broke the all time season win record, previously held by the ’96 Chicago Bulls, and kept its momentum well into game 1 of the playoffs. Game 1 was completely dominated by the Warriors, as they beat down the Houston Rockets 78-104. Game two will be Tonight as Houston aims to show up to this game.
The San Francisco Giants lose their rival series and drop two games to the Dodgers as they head to Arizona to face the Diamondbacks in a 4 game series, followed by three games in Miami, starting Friday.
In collegiate sports, the Texas Longhorns had a good weekend securing top finishes in Golf and women’s Rowing. The women’s rowing team competed in the Clemson Invitational which took place on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina. In Saturday’s races, the Longhorns managed to place in the top 3 in all of the heats, but more importantly came out Sunday rowing for it all. The team was able to place first in all 5 heats Sunday, which should help its rankings and build momentum for the upcoming meets and The Big 12 championship.
Meanwhile the UT golf team was able to secure first place as well in Ardmore, OK, home of “The Maxwell” golf tournament. Gavin Hall led the horns as he was 1 stroke better than everyone else, securing a first place finish for the team.
The NBA playoffs are in full swing and our collegiate sports will soon be wrapping up for the year, But stay tuned for more updates and highlights as we progress forward. Hook ’em Horns!
