Women’s Golf at The Big XII

Texas Women’s Golf performed high at the Big 12 Championship today! Last year’s championship UT finished 2nd featuring Sophia Schubert as the UT best individual. This year is not the exception, this longhorn started the Big 12 conference the right foot by finishing the day in the top 10 to lead the Longhorns! On the second and third holes Schubert made a back-to-back birdies and then added another on hole no. 7. She finished the round with a birdie on the 18th hole and is tied for third. Go Horns!

Emilee Hoffman also put the Texas name at the top by finishing at one over for a tie for ninth. After this first round of the Big 12, the longhorns tied for 4th place. Texas shot 297 in the round to sit at 9 over par for the tournament. Texas has four strokes behind the first day leader TCU. A brief recap of the first forth team leaders of the board are:

TCU: 293 shots
Oklahoma State: 294 shots
Kansas: 296 shots
Texas: 297 shots

Texas will strive for the best to make to the top and continue their first day success until the end of the weekend! The second round of this year Big 12 Championship is tomorrow, Saturday 22nd 2017, Texas will begin teeing off with Baylor and Iowa State right at 8:00 AM (Central Time). The Big 12 will culminate the 23rd (Sunday)!
